Crowthorne Automotive is committed to conducting its business ethically, responsibly and with integrity.
Approved by: Director
Our business
Crowthorne Automotive operates within the automotive sector as a vehicle dealership, involved in the sourcing, purchase and sale of motor vehicles and associated automotive products and services.
Our business may engage with a range of suppliers and service providers, including vehicle suppliers, manufacturers, wholesalers, transport and logistics providers, vehicle preparation and repair businesses, parts suppliers, finance providers and other professional service providers.
We recognise that complex and international supply chains within the automotive industry can create potential risks relating to labour practices and human rights.
Our commitment
Crowthorne Automotive has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking.
We will not knowingly conduct business with any organisation or individual involved in:
- Forced, compulsory or involuntary labour;
- Human trafficking;
- Servitude or slavery;
- Child labour contrary to applicable laws;
- Exploitation of workers;
- The withholding of identity documents or wages as a means of coercion; or
- Other practices that violate fundamental human and employment rights.
We expect the businesses and individuals with whom we work to uphold equivalent standards.
Our supply chain
We aim to work with reputable suppliers, contractors and business partners who operate lawfully and responsibly.
Where appropriate and proportionate to the nature of the relationship, we may consider factors including a supplier's reputation, location, industry, employment practices and overall compliance standards when assessing potential risks.
If we identify reasonable grounds to believe that a supplier, contractor or other business partner is involved in modern slavery, human trafficking or serious labour exploitation, we will investigate the matter and take appropriate action. This may include requesting corrective measures, suspending business activity or terminating the relationship.
Due diligence and risk management
Crowthorne Automotive seeks to reduce the risk of modern slavery through proportionate due diligence and responsible procurement practices.
Our approach includes:
- Working with established and reputable suppliers wherever reasonably possible;
- Maintaining appropriate records relating to suppliers and business transactions;
- Remaining alert to unusual or potentially unethical labour or sourcing practices;
- Considering modern slavery risks when establishing significant supplier relationships;
- Encouraging concerns regarding unethical practices to be raised promptly; and
- Reviewing our approach as our business and supply chain develop.
We recognise that modern slavery risks can change over time and will continue to assess whether additional controls or procedures are appropriate.
Employees and working practices
Crowthorne Automotive is committed to maintaining fair and lawful employment practices.
We expect all individuals working for or on behalf of the business to be treated with dignity and respect and to work voluntarily and in accordance with applicable employment legislation.
We do not tolerate intimidation, coercion, discrimination, exploitation or unlawful working practices.
Reporting concerns
Employees, contractors, suppliers and other individuals who have concerns relating to modern slavery or unethical conduct connected with Crowthorne Automotive are encouraged to report those concerns to management.
Any concern raised in good faith will be taken seriously and considered appropriately.
Where necessary, matters may also be referred to the relevant authorities.
Training and awareness
Where appropriate to an individual's responsibilities, Crowthorne Automotive will promote awareness of modern slavery risks and the importance of identifying and reporting potential concerns.
Employees involved in purchasing, supplier management or other relevant business activities are expected to remain particularly vigilant when dealing with suppliers and third parties.
Continuous improvement
Crowthorne Automotive is committed to continually reviewing and improving its approach to responsible business practices.
As our operations and supplier relationships develop, we will consider whether further due diligence, contractual requirements, supplier assessments, training or monitoring measures are required to reduce modern slavery risks.
Approval
This statement reflects Crowthorne Automotive's commitment to combating modern slavery and human trafficking and to maintaining ethical standards throughout its operations and supply relationships.
